The principle of Urban Nexus developed an innovative project working in partnership with 3 Mosques, a church and a community school in Werneth, Freehold and Coppice wards of Oldham. The project was established after a wider set of concerns in relation to a community as a whole which included service provision, economic development and other issues relating to social inclusion, education and planning.

A key strand of the work was to empower local residents with knowledge and skills to help groups and individuals from the three wards to find consensual strategies or common grounds on which they could work together.
